Jamie Hall sets pace in 4wd Qualifying Round 1

All eyes are on the skies here at Southport as there is heavy and thunderous rain forecast for around 2pm today. It’s possible that the meeting result will be settled on qualifying times if the weather turns severe. This means that qualifying is even more critical than normal today if an overall high score is to be achieved.

Jamie Hall was the first to take a TQ in round during Round 1. Initially it was Paul Crompton who set the pace on a slow 16 lapper. Then it was Lee Martin and Neil Cragg who made their attempts, but some errors and an incident involving a marshal getting in their way meant that Neil eneded up 4th and Lee 5th. The top pace came from the top heat. Tommy Hall was absolutely flying with Jamie Hall in tow. Both had near perfect runs to go 1 – 2 in round, with Jamie taking TQ. Ben Smith also in to mix to go 6th in round.
