There were problems for everyone at the top of the 4wd qualifying table. Tommy Hall took the round and was rapid but made several small mistakes including a 360° spin. Jamie Hall also proved to be very fast but made a costly mistake coming off the straight in his qualifier. Neil Cragg managed to get going after a sensor wire came loose on the warm-up lap and Lee Martin had a couple of errors including a very costly accident which cost him at least 4 seconds.
