Lee Martin takes 2wd Q4 and Pole Position…
In a thrilling last round of 2wd qualifying, the battle for Pole Position has reduced to a duel between two drivers, Tommy Hall and Lee Martin. Hall leads on points, but Martin leads on times. In the second from top heat, Martin needed a win, ideally a win on a faster time than his round 1 TQ time. He secured the heat and went top of the table on a time only 0.5 seconds slower than his earlier TQ. Now all eyes were on Tommy Hall – can he win his heat on a faster time than Martin’s Round 1 time? Unfortunately, it was not to be, an error from Hall set him back some 6 seconds and he retrieved 3 of those during the remainder of his run, but it wasn’t enough. Martin staerts on Pole, Hall second, Cragg third.
