Nemo Racing / Agama N110
We managed to get a sneak peak at the Agama N110 prototype at the EOS in Daun. The car has a bit to go before it can go out to customers but we can already see that there is some innovative ideas which will help the car to excel at events like the EOS. In particular, the car takes an idea we saw a few years ago on the original TLR 22 – a linear steering rack. Agama incorparated roller bearings to ensure the inevitable jam which occured on the 22 won’t happen here.

Its hard to believe that the car is in its fifth year of development. This car will represent the very first 1/10th car which will be completely produced in-house in Agama – quite an undertaking. A 1/10th carpet muncher is a great fit for in-house production as the chassis is made from woven carbon fibre sheets which don’t encure the manufacturing costs of milled aluminium or polymer moulds.
We’re told that the car is easy to drive due to its low polar moment – all the weight is close to the cars longitudinal centre of momentum – something you can’t effectively do with tradition shock towers.
It was also quite surprising to see such wide suspension hangers on the car. Cars with laydown suspension have previously used very narrow pivots in an attempt to compensate for the roll you lose when the shocks are brought inboard. This hints to the car’s focus on modern high grip racing on carpet and astro.
Yasir Mughal – lead Nemo Racing driver – tells us the car is naturally fast and easy to drive, whilst consistent. Sounds like the magic combination. Keep an eye out for release news from the team at Nemo Racing / Agama soon….
Many thanks to Kieran from Speedwurx for the photos.
