Three rounds of qualifying done and three different winners. Lots of the top drivers look to be on the same 1 lap pace, but few can convert it into a clean run. Tommy Hall, Ben Smith, Michal Orlowski & Josh Holdsworth all have great qualifying pace, Martin & Crompton look like could upset the A final with a good run.
4wd Qualifying Round 4
In heat 7 it was Luke Holdsworth’s turn to top the heat and make his attempt to top the overall leader board. He finished just a few seconds ahead of brother Josh with Eugene Galley in 3rd. Luke’s run looked like a safe one and it will be interesting to see both Holdsworth’s brothers pace in the final.

Round 6 – RHR – 27/28 August 2022
Tommy Hall had problems in Heat 8 which let Ben Smith away with no pressure. Unfortunately mid race he broke his car forcing a retirement. This promoted Paul Crompton to the front with a recovering Tommy Hall behind. Crompton has Hall’s pace, but bobbles and mistakes slowed him up. 13/303.39.
Heat 9 was our the last chance for somebody to displace Ben Smith at the top of the tables. Michal Orlowski got off first and started banging in very clean laps. Lee Martin was close behind and matching Orlowski’s pace. A couple of bobbles and bounce from Martin let Orlowski away and it stayed that way till the end of the heat. Orlowski posted 14/316.79 – TQ in round and pole position for the A Finals. Lee Martin having his best time of the day a second behind.
